featured in the northern echo
We’re proud to share that The Greedy Goat has recently been featured in The Northern Echo, highlighting the opening of phase one to our deli and the journey behind it.
This milestone marks an exciting chapter for us - and we are incredibly honoured to see our new business featured.
Here is a glimpse into the article, highlighting our opening week!
WHY WE BUY LOCAL
At The Greedy Goat, buying local isn’t a marketing trend - it’s a conscious decision that shapes everything we do. As a family-owned café, bistro and farm shop in Hurworth, Darlington, we believe that supporting local farmers, growers and producers is one of the most powerful ways to build a stronger, more sustainable food culture.
A New Chapter Begins
For many in the village, the building on the corner will always be remembered as the old Hurworth Fishery - a familiar local spot and part of Hurworth’s story for years. Today, that same building is preparing for a new chapter. Under local family ownership, it has been carefully restored, reimagined and revived as The Greedy Goat - Café, Bistro & Farm Shop in Hurworth, Darlington.
