Today, that same building is preparing for a new chapter. Under local family ownership, it has been carefully restored, reimagined and revived as The Greedy Goat — Café, Bistro & Farm Shop.

When we first stepped inside the former fishery, we didn’t just see bricks and mortar - we saw potential. Potential to create a space that brings people together. Potential to champion local produce. Potential to breathe new life into a building that has long been part of the community fabric.
As a family-owned business rooted in the North East, this wasn’t just a commercial venture - it was personal. We wanted to preserve the heart of the building while transforming it into something fresh, welcoming and future-focused. The result is a carefully designed café, bistro and farm shop that blends luxurious country warmth with a refined, modern feel.
